The monstrous, 3200 Phaethon Apollo asteroid has been near to the earth since 1974, being five million miles away. But, now the 3200 Phaethon has been categorized as massively dangerous asteroid by team of scientists at the Minor Planet Center of NASA because of its closeness to the Earth. The asteroid is currently 6.2 million miles away from the Earth, which is actually just two million miles away from the orbit of Earth.

3200 Phaethon is potentially demolishing asteroid hurtling to the Earth to slate the planet, since the NASA team said that there is no worry about it. The team also informed that the massive asteroid is not going to hit the Earth at all and will not come closer again in such a way until the year 2093.

Nevertheless, the massive asteroid has zoomed Earth for over 20 times in nearly last three decades and now it is heading towards another narrow escape with the Earth on tomorrow. Howbeit, the space enthusiasts will be capable of catching the event with a telescope.

NASA reported that the potentially dangerous asteroid is massively detectable at the NASA communications complex, Goldstone for nearly three weeks and its paths are scheduled on 10 days between 11th to 21st December. The United States federal government space agency says that the asteroid will also remain perceptible at the Arecibo observatory in Puerto Rico, from 15th December to 19th December.

NASA said in a statement that, “The potential is to make close Earth approaches does not mean a PHA will impact the Earth. The 2017 apparition is the closest to Earth since the asteroid’s discovery, so it may be possible for optical observers to detect new activity. They think this asteroid and its orbit is very well known will never get closer than about 1.8 million miles of the Earth.”
